The group were treated to a Sydney Roosters First Grade training session and meet and greet with the players in the morning, followed by a light lunch and refreshments, and then they set off to Australia’s most iconic beach - Bondi Beach, for a surf lesson provided by Surfing NSW in the afternoon. The kids look forward to this trip each year, as it is a highly sought after ticket in town.
Rugby League is the main sport in winter and they cannot get enough of it. For the past 3 years about 20 kids and 4 adults travel down from Brewarrina to attend rugby league matches and participate in healthy activities that they may not otherwise have access to. The Healhty Highs "From the Bush to Bondi" program again provided another exciting event to coincide with National Drug Action Week 2010.

Selected on their school attendance and good conduct around town, most of the children participating in the event have never seen the ocean before, let alone stand on a surfboard! "It's was such a special day for these children," said Darren Marton, Director of The No-Way Campaign." As organistaion we are committed to focusing on rural and remote areas right across Australia and promoting healthy lifestyle choices for young people."
